When we talk about white-label with attorneys, the reaction is usually "nice to have." When we explain the full scope of it — custom email domain, per-firm SMS number, firm branding throughout the portal, no bankruptcy.ai branding visible to the client — the reaction shifts to "actually, that is important."
The professional responsibility angle
Under professional responsibility rules, the attorney-client relationship is between the client and the firm. When a client receives a portal invitation from an email address that says "noreply@bankruptcy.ai" and sees a platform branded with a vendor's name, the nature of the relationship is obscured. Who is the client working with? Is this their attorney's system or something else?
The answer should be unambiguous. The client is working with your firm. The platform is your firm's intake system. The vendor is infrastructure — invisible from the client's perspective.
What white-label includes
Firm logo and colors throughout the client portal. A custom welcome message from the firm. The magic-link invitation email sent from your firm's domain (not ours). An SMS phone number assigned to your firm for client communications. No bankruptcy.ai branding visible to clients at any point in the intake flow.
Configuration is done in firm settings — no technical setup required. The firm's IT team does not need to be involved.
